Put on the New Self

Many Christians have felt the struggle between wanting to live a new life, and the reality of the temptations that they're facing.  They want to live for Christ, but simply find it so difficult too.  The problem isn't that we aren't trying hard enough it is that often people root Christian living in rules and discipline.  In Eph. 4:17-24 Paul says that a Christian life is rooted in a change that God has made in our hearts, and not our attempts to be good.
