City of God Church seeks to reflect the generous nature of God. We believe generosity is a distinct trait of believers in Christ, and Scripture encourages the Church to give joyful and generously. 2 Cor 9:6-11 reminds Christians that God loves a cheerful giver and exhorts us to give joyfully, abundantly, and in every way.
We believe generosity may be expressed in every way, including gifts of money, volunteering our time, sharing our resources through hospitality and material possessions, and imparting wisdom God has entrusted to us.
Our Rooted Vision
“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:6-7
God has done big things through City of God, and He has even more in store for us. We have established deeper and deeper roots in this community, which has resulted in tremendous growth. Rooted is a generosity initiative through which we will fund the two-year ministry plan of our church while also setting the resources in place to facilitate the purchase of the first permanent home of City of God. Together we will each consider the sacrificial commitments God would have us make as we become Rooted in Him and this exciting next chapter for our church.

Why do we give?
We give so that we can reflect the character of our generous God. In 2 Corinthians 9, Paul lays out three specific reasons why living a generous life is important for believers. First, there are spiritual benefits that come to the Christian who lives a generous life (2 Cor. 9:6, 8). Second, when we give we are able to help meet the needs of others which is a blessing to them (2 Cor. 9:12). Finally, when we give, we bring glory to God (2 Cor. 9:11).
How can I give securely?
There are three primary ways you can give to City of God Church.
• You can give online through our website or the Church Center App.
• You can also donate your offering during our Sunday morning worship service.
• Finally, you can mail your check to our church offices (580 N. 36th Street, Suite A, Lafayette, IN 47905).
Where can I find giving statements and annual reports?
You can find your current giving statement and most recent annual report by logging on to your Planning Center account. Also, you can contact the church, and we can provide that information for you as well.
