Red Sea Moments

It's been several weeks since we looked at the story of the Red Sea crossing in Exodus 14. In the story God led his people out of Egypt and brought them to the edge of the Red Sea. They couldn't go any further and they discovered that the armies of Egypt were also pressing in on them from behind. They were literally stuck unless God moved in a dramatic way. They should have expected this because they had just witnessed the plagues, but all of us struggle with having a short term memory of what God has done when we're facing a difficult decision.

However, God led them to this place. He brought them to the edge of the sea, and he baited the armies of Egypt into pursuing the Israelites. God led them into a difficult spot so that he could display his glory. He was going to show all of Israel and all of Egypt who the true God was, but in order to do that he had to lead his people into a seemingly impossible situation.

Most of us run from difficulty. We feel like we're out of God's will if life is a struggle. But what if God brings us into a difficult spot to show us who he is? What if he wants to show us more of who he is, and the only way that he can do that is by leading you to the brink of knowing you can't accomplish anything on your own?

What's your Red Sea moment going to be this year? Will you follow God to the point where he has to move? Will you have a dream for your life big enough that if God is not in it then it will fail?

Who are you going to lead to Christ?
What ministries are you going to have a significant impact in?
How are you going to love Lafayette?
How is God going to show himself through you?
