Help COG's Fall Kickoff
We've got an exciting month coming up. People are coming back from vacation. Students are coming back to campus. August is always a huge month for City of God Church, and even more so this year. We're really excited to see how God will move through this church in the coming weeks, and I wanted to take a few minutes to give you some ways you could help us out.
1. Pray
What we want to accomplish in this city and on this campus can only be by the power of God. Lives being changed and people being transformed are works of the Holy Spirit that only God can accomplish. Spend time on your knees in the coming weeks praying that God would bring people to COG to hear the message of Jesus Christ for the first time.
2. Serve
Every Sunday when you walk in to City of God there are people who have already been there for several hours. Without the willingness of many to sacrifice their time and abilities we couldn't do what we do every Sunday. Would you consider serving...
- Hospitality: setting up the room, meeting visitors, helping us prepare for an incredible time of worship
- Childrens: serving families and their children through time with the kids, teaching, and allowing the parents to focus on their worship time
- Worship/Tech: playing in the band, working the computer, helping us set up on Sunday mornings
Every one of these groups is always looking for more help. E-mail info@cogchurch.org if you're interested.
3. Invite Someone
God working in a new way in someone's life is going to start with you. Will you be used by God to put people in a place where they can hear the message of Jesus? Maybe you're not ready yet to have a one on one conversation about your faith. Simply invite someone to come along with you to City of God this fall. You might be the first step in an incredible journey that brings someone to a relationship with Jesus Christ.
How else can you help us get the word out?
- Use social media: Post about COG on Facebook and Twitter. Link to our webpage. Let people know when and where are services are taking place. Talk about what struck you in the sermon or during worship. Every time someone opens their mouth about what's happening at COG it helps.
4. Give
God has been so faithful to us as individuals. One of the ways we're able to worship Him is through managing the resources He's given all of us. Sacrificially giving to COG is not only a way to further the ministry of our church, but it also benefits you spiritually. There are so many things you could give your money to. Why not give it to something that could make an eternal impact in the lives of many?
There are so many ways for you to get involved this fall. Don't waste the opportunities that God has given you to make a lasting impact in this city and on this campus. I can't wait to see what God is going to do in this place this year.
Pastor Eric
