Worship This Weekend

by Eric Roseberry on March 18, 2020

City of God Church,

We're looking forward to worshiping with you this Sunday at 10:45. Again, we will not meet at Lafayette Christian School, but we will live-stream our service the next few weeks so that we can continue to worship together even when...we can't be together.

Check any of City of God's social media accounts starting at 10:30 on Sunday, and you should have access to the service. It will also be available on-demand after the service in case you need to watch it at a later time. Our staff is new to this so bear with us if we encounter any tech problems this weekend. We'll get it figured out!

I wanted to encourage you with a few ideas as you prepare for worship this weekend.

1. Consider hosting a watch party at your house. Invite another family or a few friends (10 people or less) to your house and worship together. During the service, we will still sing, hear from God's word, share in communion, and give. It would be great to experience this with other believers, and it's so important for us to have time together now as we're able.

2. Stop by the church offices to pick up communion for your group or pick up some bread and juice/wine so that you will be able to share in communion together. The sermon this week is on communion (I know, it's ironic), and it will be an important part of our service.

3. We will try and provide as much as we can (handouts, videos, etc.) for your children so that they can continue to experience some of what they normally do on Sunday mornings.

4. Consider ordering some food or getting take out from a local business and sharing in a meal together before or after the service.

5. After worship, let us see your pictures and hear how God moved wherever you were that morning. We are confident that God is going to be faithful, and we would love to hear what he is doing in our church family.

We want to try and make the next few Sunday mornings as normal as we can in the coming weeks. If you have any questions or if there is any way we can help you in the coming weeks, don't hesitate to reach out.

Again, check any of City of God's social media accounts at 10:30 on Sunday, and you should find a link to the service that will start at 10:45ish (in classic City of God style).

- Pastor Eric.
