COG July Update

by Eric Roseberry on July 02, 2020

City of God Family,

I hope you have a great 4th of July weekend. I wanted to send you a couple of reminders and updates as Sunday draws closer.

First, we have a short member’s meeting scheduled for immediately after the service on Sunday. If you are unable to attend, we will e-mail members a link to the video of that meeting on Sunday afternoon.

Second, we apologize for the ongoing issues with the live stream. After spending several hours with technical support from Lafayette Christian this week, we believe we have the problem solved. However, if we have another issue this Sunday, we want to ensure that those of you who can’t gather with us will still be able to worship with your COG family.

  • Sunday at 10 AM, there will be a service broadcast on COG’s Facebook page. This will either be the live stream of our Sunday morning service, or it will be a past sermon from Pastor Eric with a home worship guide attached. We will also record the full service from this Sunday, and we will start posting services on Sunday morning from the previous week if the stream continues to fail. We recognize this isn’t ideal, and we truly believe the technical issues have been solved. However, we want to ensure you’re able to stay connected to the body here, and this will allow you to keep as current as possible with services at City of God. Long story short, beginning this Sunday, there will be some worship option for you on our Facebook Page at 10 AM.
  • For those of you joining us in person, continue to register each week at this link. This helps us ensure we have adequately planned for those who will be in attendance, and it will be critical as we start making decisions regarding future children’s ministry offerings.
  • Also, we continue to encourage those of you attending in person to wear a face mask, especially during the singing portion of the service.

Third, we recognize that many of you might feel disconnected from the church as we figure out what things will look like heading into the fall. Our pastors and staff are here for you if you have questions, prayer requests, or are interested in finding ways to get connected beyond Sunday morning. This is a unique time that presents challenges to our community, but it is also an opportunity to trust God. God has something for us in the midst of these things, and I’m excited to see how he grows and stretches us as a body in the coming weeks.

We love all of you, and we look forward to serving you for years to come.

Pastor Eric
