What are City Groups?
City Groups are smaller expressions of God’s church that meet in homes throughout our cities. They are a diverse collection of individuals committed to the gospel and one another, meeting in homes and living out the gospel together for God’s glory between Sundays. Through these relationships we receive and respond to grace, imaging our Creator and lifting up the name of Christ.
Why are City Groups Important?
The majority of ministry at City of God takes place through City Groups. They are the primary context for discipleship, care, and mission. In these gospel-centered communities scattered across our cities, we strive to make disciples who love Jesus, love people and advance the Gospel.
Our hope is that everyone who calls City of God home will be actively involved in a City Group.
When do City Groups Meet?
City Groups meet together in full groups the FIRST and THIRD weeks of each month on their determined day and time. During these gatherings, the focus is on community, care, and prayer. They are welcoming environments where meals and life are shared. We get to know each other and continue to grow in relationship with one another.
The SECOND and FOURTH weeks of the month are set aside for discipleship. These are smaller groups of 3-5 from the group, specific to men or women. They meet once or twice a month at various places and times to grow in the gospel through God's Word, honest conversation, and courageous accountability.

How Can I Lead a City Group?
Is the Lord inviting you to help others walk with Him through leading or hosting a City Group? As Jesus continues to grow City of God, there is always a need for new leaders and locations.
Quarterly we offer a City Groups 101 class. Here we share the basics of community life at City of God, let you know the qualifications and expectations of leadership, and learn from current leaders. This is a great place to ask questions and get a feel for what the Christ might be inviting you into.
